"When The World Stops Crying is about changing, is about a journey, is about new beginnings and new endings. Life, death, beauty: everything begins, changes us, and inevitably ends.
But life is alwais changing, an endless journey through our existence"

"When The World Stops Crying" is the debut album of the italian pianist Leonardo Pruneti, winner of the international arranging and composition competition Barga Jazz 2021. The chosen line-up for this record is the trio, with talented young musicians like Mattia Galeotti, Pietro Paris, Jacopo Fagioli, Mario Petronzi ecc...
Taking as a reference musicians such as Shai Maestro, Tigran Hamasyan or Vijay Yier, the trio offers a strongly identifying repertoire, the result of the compositional ideas of the bandleader pianist. With clear jazz roots, the trio's music moves in every direction, embracing the contemporary current. The music is almost "impressionistic": an idea, an image or a suggestion are translated into a strong, contaminated music with a great communicative urgency. The main focus of the trio is the compositional dynamics: everything is orchestrated with care and precision, without however renouncing the essential elements of a jazz trio such as interplay or improvisation.

"When The World Stops Crying" is a record with a strong stylistic imprint; the listener is led by the hand on an immersive journey through the stories that inspires the compositions, which speaks of changing. Everything is organized according to the metaphor of the journey: every journey begins, enriches us, changes us and inevitably ends; but new journeys always begins, making life an endless cycle.
